Managing Director et al of ICANN APAC Hub visit JPRS

On March 30th 2016, Mr. Jia-Rong Low, who is the Managing Director of ICANN Asia Pacific(APAC) Hub, visited JPRS Tokyo Head Office with his colleagues and exchanged opinions.

Among others, discussions include:

• Who is the target of ICANN's outreach to Japanese community?
  Setting the topic and potentially interested parties are the most important. Vague topic or diverse topics at one time makes everyone reluctant to join.
• What is the effective way for ICANN and/or JPRS in outreaching Japanese community?
  Providing a simple baseline document or 10-minutes presentation that explains the background and focal point of each specific issue is of much help.
• How should the community contact ICANN to convey their proposal or request effectively?
  Concrete examples and data will help ICANN to understand and investigate the proposal/request.

ICANN APAC members expressed their expectation that JPRS and Japanese community continue their activities as a good model for communities in other countries and keep on cooperating with ICANN to lead others. In addition, ICANN expressed their appreciation to JPRS's contributions to various community activities. JPRS expressed JPRS is willing and ready to contribute to ICANN and various communities.
