Satsuki Hori of JPRS selected as the Backup TCR

(15 November 2019)

Satsuki Hori of JPRS, was selected as the Backup TCR.

As part of the joint effort to secure the domain name system (DNS) and the Root DNSSEC key management process, a number of persons acting as trusted representatives of the Internet community participate in the root key generation and signing ceremonies. These persons are called Trusted Community Representatives (TCRs).

There are two types of active TCRs:
 Cryptographic Officers (COs)
 Recovery Key Share Holders (RKSHs)

In addition to COs and RKSHs, as backups in the event that any active TCRs resign or retire, Backup TCRs fill CO and RKSH vacancies.

Since 2012, Hori has been experienced in charge of the design, construction and operations of the JP DNS and M-Root servers as an engineer of ccTLD registry. Hori was selected as the Backup TCR as consideration of the experiences.

JPRS will continue to contribute to the global Internet community.
